  1. i think you are talking to smart for me!
  2. The real question should be, "Can I build a successful business selling stuff and using alphaimports to dropship it for me?" The answer is "probably not" because there's always going to be someone else trying to sell exactly the same thing for a little less. There are about four keys to success in retailing. 1. Location, location, location. If you're the only store selling flanges within a 30-mile radius, people will come to you for flanges because it takes too much time and money to make a 60-mile round trip to buy elsewhere. But if you're having alpha dropship for you, you have no advantage over any other retailer using alpha. 2. Inventory. If you have 500 different Cadillac Escalades on your car lot, and the other local Cadillac dealer has 10, chances are pretty good that the customer prefers one of your cars to one that the other dealer has. You haven't this advantage with Alpha. 3. Aggregation. It's more convenient to get your batteries where you buy your flashlight. Put together a store that has tents, folding cots, camp stoves, flashlights and batteries, and people will favor your business. If you're reselling Alpha, though, your competitors are doing the same aggregation you are, and you have no competitive advantage. 4. Better buying. The first retailers were grocers. They were originally called "grossers" because they would buy cheap, in gross-lot quantities (a gross is 12 dozen) and sell at a higher price for people who only want one. But you don't have this advantage. The most profitable businesses rely heavily on #4. You usually can't command a higher price for the same product, but you *can* buy for less, if you set your mind to it. If it were profitable to retail products and have Alpha ship for you, don't you suppose Alpha would know it's profitable? Since Alpha can buy from Alpha cheaper than *you* can buy from Alpha, don't you suppose they have a retail arm as well? Who do you suppose will have the most competitive prices? To answer the question you asked, instead of the question you *should* have asked, AlphaImports domain name was registered in November 1998, but Netcraft first noticed it in February 2000. They were being hosted by Apollo Hosting until late June, and switched to GoDaddy hosting in July. That's a little suspicious in itself. GoDaddy mostly sells hosting when they sell domain names, not to people dissatisfied with their present hosting. And they don't even have their domain name through GoDaddy. It's from Network Solutions. You have to ask "What's going on here?" The domain registration doesn't list anybody as contact person, only a business name. Anonymity is not a good thing. You want to deal with someone who isn't going to fold up and disappear in the middle of the night. The security certificate for Alpha Imports similarly lists the anonymous "alphaimports.com" as the owner. Alpha Imports goes to a lot of trade shows - but they are selling loose gemstones and cabochons, not ready-to-wear jewelry. Hmmm. Is this suspicious? It turns out that the same physical address is shared by Aanshi Gems aka Aanshi Jems. Mukesh Vijay, the company president, claims to have 4 employees and $5 million in annual sales. The aanshigems.com site, however, isn't selling jewelry - it's just a third-rate link farm to jewelry websites. That domain is registered with DomainContender, and shows that it's owned by the Belize Domain WHOIS service in City of Belmopan, BZ. Other sites showing the same ownership, on the same netblock, are 57ww.com and 200bestaviation.com, which have the same third-rate link farm. Last November, Aanshi cut a deal with Ultimate Shopping Network, in which Aanshi will lease 20 hours of airtime per day from USN and will be responsible for providing programming, and will be responsible for USN's Selling, General and Administrative expenses, as well as providing jewelry products to be sold on USN. USN had been losing tons of money ever since they went on the air in 2003. The deal hands over virtually all the programming to Aanshi in exchange for 10% of retail sales. It doesn't sound like USN was dealing from a position of strength; a drowning man grasps at straws. I don't know for sure that Alpha Imports and Aanshi Gems are the same company; maybe they just share office space. I can't find any evidence that they're crooks, but the available evidence suggests that they're pretty sketchy. That's not exactly a surprise, given that they are in the jewelry business. For instance, most of the black onyx jewelry sold is not onyx at all, but chalcedony. I'd suggest you take a look around your community. Find some local manufacturer whose products aren't being sold online by everybody and his brother. Get set up as a dealer, with the understanding that you can buy in small quantities daily instead of carrying inventory. Teenagers can't find jobs anywhere. Make a deal with one to package your merchandise on piece rate. They like that, because they can do the work at *their* convenience. Each day, you print out the orders. You go to the manufacturer, leave a list of what you want for the next day, and you pick up the stuff you ordered the previous day. You then drive to the teenager's house, drop off the new merchandise along with packing slips. You can see the previous day's packages, which will be picked up later that day by UPS or DHL or whoever you use for shipping. And because manufacturers of related products often are located near each other (employees of the first company quit to start a company making something related), it gives you the ability to aggregate, giving you an even stronger competitive advantage. Don't forget that you can now wholesale the products, offering to drop-ship for people who aren't bright enough to figure out all this for themselves.
