How do I get my wholesalers liicense?

I live in California & I'm looking to start a kids clothing line. But I need to buy blank shirts/bibs/blankets/etc in bulk? What do I need to do to get a wholesalers license/number?

1. In California, you get a Resale Certificate from the Board of Equalization if you wish to buy items for resale from wholesalers (a wholesalers license is when you are the ones offering for sale in bulk the items). 2. You aren't a wholesaler just yet, your still a retailer. I've been through this step, become a retailer and buy from a wholesaler and wholesale rate. If your planning on changing or adding logos and imprints and stitching then make sure you get pre-shrunk cotton. It doesn't have to be top quality, but you definitely want it pre-shrunk.
