How anyone worked with wholesalers? Is there an art to negotiating?
I am working with wholesalers and am wondering if anyone has had any experience in this industry. How likely are you able to negotiate prices with them that they have set?

- It's pretty simple. The more you buy, the cheaper it is. That's about the only negotiating there is other than shipping cost.
- Here's an idea - don't haggle. Just go with the ones that can offer you the products you want at the price you want. it takes more reserch, but your wholesalers will be happier and more helpfull, and no one goes away feeling like they got taken. (this is an example of zero point game theory)
- I have worked a little with wholesalers. what I have seen in the way of getting discounts comes through going to trade shows put on by an organization that supports your particular industry. These shows are put together to showcase vendors merchandise and also a forum for different companies to get together and discuss success' and failures. vendors tend to give better deals when you buy a large quantity at these shows they also discount merchandise that they do not want to ship back to warehouses if you have a way to transport them. You usually have to be a member of the organization that is sponsoring the show.
- try the www.thedistributiondepot.net they are wholesalers too
